Due to ongoing requirements, one of Northern Ireland’s Tier 1 Construction & Civil Engineering contractors are now recruiting for a Site Agent to oversee major highways and structures projects based across the UK. The company have established themselves as one of the most successful top tier contractors in Northern Ireland, specialising in multiple sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, retail, asset management and civil engineering. Our clients have built an enviable industry name on their specialist team consistently delivering high quality service on £multi-million projects for global clients, which has led to a high level of repeat business.
Your new role
As Civils Site Agent, you will be working on major highways and structures projects based across the UK, with two main initial schemes to include the construction of a new road, three roundabouts, and multiple road bridges over a river and railway sidings (£200+m) and a new footbridge and road widening for a busway valued at circa £14m.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager and client, you will be responsible for all general work and engineering activities onsite, ensuring that they consistently deliver a high specification through each stage of a project from groundworks to completion, on time and on budget. The successful candidate will work closely with the site personnel to deliver projects to the highest possible standard.
What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have previous experience primarily within the civil engineering sector at a Senior Engineering / Management level. Highways experience is preferable. You should be capable of supervising staff on site with a strong technical ability with some pre-construction planning experience desirable as the first 6-9 months will be spent in development of the design and methodology to deliver the projects.
Due to the location of projects across the UK, you must be flexible to travel on a weekly basis.
