Job description

Site Delivery Officer positions (2-year fixed term contract)

About Us and the Role

Warwick District Council is looking for enthusiastic and experienced Planners or Surveyors to lead the Council’s work in the complex and challenging area of bringing forward high-quality development and timely infrastructure on major development sites.

This role sits within the Planning Policy & Site Delivery team of the Council, responsible for matters relating to planning policy, Site Delivery and the Community Infrastructure Levy.

This post will involve working closely with developers and infrastructure providers to help shape masterplans for strategic sites (potentially including new settlements) and to ensure developer contributions are coordinated to deliver infrastructure requirements. The work will also involve the careful monitoring and management of development. This post is likely to focus on development proposals in a specific geographic area of the district, although the postholder may be asked to work on sites and projects across the district.

You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a successful track record of working on masterplanning and/or delivery of major development sites. You will need to have strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills, along with an understanding of development viability and the planning system.
You will also need to have experience of working with key stakeholders in the development process.

The post is a full-time (37 hours a week) position, on a 2-year fixed term contract although there may be scope for extending that in due course.

The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District and Stratford District owing to work on a joint South Warwickshire Local Plan, as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.

If you wish to discuss the position in further detail before submitting your application, please contact Andrew Cornfoot (Planning Policy & Major Sites Delivery Manager) on Andrew.cornfoot@warwickdc.gov.uk or 01926 456203.

Closing date 5th April 2024

Interviews are likely to take place on 16th April 2024.
