Due to the rise of a new highway project in the Cambridgeshire area, they are recruiting a Site Engineer with previous highway experience.
Your new role
You will be working as a Site Engineer on one of the prestigious highway improvement schemes. The scheme addresses the problems of congestion, poor journey time reliability and poor resilience against incidents between two major roundabouts in the Cambridgeshire area. As a Site Engineer, you will be supported by the section engineer and others working on the project to take ownership of the site works of the section, ensuring that the works are constructed aligning with the design and contract scopes, and contributing to planning the works.
You will:
- Review designs and raise questions to your Section Engineer
- Communicate effectively with other supervisors, designers, engineers and client representatives
- Write temporary work design briefs to a standard accepted by temporary works co-ordinator and section engineer
- Contribute to weekly reviews of your work
- Understand the design specifications for your section
- Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of health and safety policies.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering/ HND in Civil Engineering
- SMSTS Card
- CSCS Card
- Setting and experience using surveying tools
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good understanding of engineering principles
- Previous experience of excavation works, concrete works or structural steel work (Preferred, not essential)
