Job Description: Site Engineer

Location: Edinburgh

On behalf of my client, I am recruiting for a Site Engineer to work on an ongoing project inEdinburgh on an ongoing £20,700,000. The project involves; Restoration of the historic gas holder, which has a 76 x 46 metre steel frame, to create a a new and exciting multifunctional public space.

Responsibilities as Site Engineer include:

Give advice as required by the CM/PD especially with regard to:

1. Existing site surveys:

· Check levels and building(s) fit on site.

2. Interpretation of soil investigation:

· What it means, i.e. Contamination, water table level, suitability for re-use of cut material, bearing strengths etc.

3. Cut and fill:

· Check volumes and sequence

· Develop plan with CM/PM

4. Drainage:

· Check details of existing are correct

· Review proposed New Scheme and advise CM/PM if it can be done better/cheaper

Requirements:

• CSCS Card

• First Aid

• HND or equivalent
