Site Engineer – Rail

On behalf of our client, Taylor Woodrow, we are hiring for a Site Engineer (rail) in Bristol.
Taylor Woodrow is the sole provider of Lot 3 - Western Geotechnical Off-Track and Drainage - as part of Network Rail Wales and Western region’s £2bn programme of works.
The Lot stretches from London Paddington to Penzance and involves the ongoing maintenance & renewals programme of civil engineering assets such as embankments, cuttings, scour protection, and earthworks drainage.
As part of this project, we are currently looking to recruit a Site Engineer with Rail Experience to be based out of the Bristol area to work on a number of schemes.
Duties:
- Carry out the duties of Rail Civils Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE)
- Management of sub-contractors
- Manage all Rail Civils engineering activities on allocated schemes
- Provide advice in respect of all construction activities
- Monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors
- Possession works
- Complete Permits
- Assess the plant and resource requirements to meet the demands of site
Person Specification
- Previous experience of working within the Rail sector is essential
- Network Rail experience
- HNC/HND in civil engineering or equivalent
- SMSTS
- Knowledge of the Wester Rail Route would be advantageous
