H9 Technical are supporting a leading consultancy who are involved all aspects of Consulting, Construction & Asset Management within the Clean Energy & Renewables sector.

Responsibilities

Electrical Duties

• Installing and modifying new electrical systems - machine wiring in an industrial setting
• Fault finding and repairing current electrical systems (control panels, electric motors)
• Using technical drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete projects
• Ensuring that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations - 18th edition preferable but will work with the right candidate who has experience and knowledge and wishes to aspire for the 18th

Mechanical Duties

• Completing both preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery such as extraction systems, granulators, shredders, and conveyors
• Fabricating and assembling frameworks, platforms, machinery upgrades (welding including stick, tig, mig)
• Troubleshooting mechanical systems when production is down.
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings and assist Design Engineers

General Duties

• Maintaining daily and weekly records to ensure all engineering activity is recorded.
• Maintaining tools and equipment
• Working to current health and safety regulations and following company health and safety policies and practices
• Ensuring work areas and clean and safe
• Ensuring all relevant people are communicated with for required work.
• Carrying out pre work risk assessments and ensuring safety of others at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

• A relevant mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification
• Experience in electrical and mechanical engineering
• Experience in preventive and reactive maintenance
• Troubleshooting skills to determine electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
• Strong manual dexterity and eye to hand coordination
• Experience resulting in good understanding of hydraulic systems and rotating equipment.
• Ability to change bearings, gearboxes, and motors.
• Experience with diesel engines and yard vehicle repairs
• Experience resulting in the comfortable use of acetylene torch, plasma cutter and stick welder.
• FLT license of experience - can be taught in-house but previous experience essential.
• iPATH license (cherry picker) - not essential
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel to support work-in-progress and engineering.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with Python programming - not essential but advantageous.
