We're looking for a Site Liaison Engineer to join our Fleet Turbine & Maintenance Group (FT&MG) based at Heysham 2, supporting our UK wide fleet, as such travel to our other locations may be required.

The opportunity

 

We have a unique opening for a Site Liaison Engineer to join our innovative and agile team.

 

You'll report directly into the Fleet Turbine & Maintenance Group Project Manager and work closely with all other internal departments both on-site at Heysham 2 and fleet wide, acting as the key interface between the FT&M Group and our Station customers. The Site Liaison Engineer will cover all duties related to work delivery ensuring that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and cost effective manner to its conclusion.

 

Essential requirements for this role will be the ability to champion the compliance with EDF and HSE procedures. Excellent communication skills are also essential to be able to engage with senior levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers).

Pay, benefits and culture

 

We can offer a competitive salary from £48,914 - £63,378 and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the EDF NG TSG Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, site-based position.

What you'll be doing

 

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

 

  • Act as the point of contact for site related project issues, encouraging others to acknowledge errors and seek help when needed.
  • Manage the delivery of projects, jobs and tasks as required.
  • Reviews plans to ensure staffing levels & equipment are available to complete work safely and to a high standard, thus ensuring plant is returned to service within agreed time scales.
  • Foster and maintain strong, trusting relationships with Station Leadership teams as well as contractor site managers enabling the platform for cross-site initiatives, programmes, processes and activities.
  • Support the Site Project Manager with work planning priorities, ensuring clear and engaging communication across the team.
  • Champion compliance with EDF/FT&MG and contractor procedures, ensuring activities carried out are compliant with work management and outage processes.
  • Continuously develop methods to improve the safety, reliability and quality of operations for example ensuring staffing levels and equipment are available to complete work safely and to high standard.

 

Who you are

 

As a minimum, you'll need to hold a relevant HNC (or equivalent) in a construction or engineering discipline. Ideally, you'll hold a IOSH qualification as well as a Project Management accreditation and NEBOSH certification. Don't worry if you don't currently hold these, there will be the opportunity for the successful candidate to achieve these certifications in post.

 

We're looking for individuals with experience within engineering and constructions projects, preferably within nuclear or heavy industry. You'll be familiar with HSE and CDM legislation as well as other industry legislative requirements and the identification of hazards within working environments.

 

You'll have experience of supervising, setting to work as well as essential leadership skills. Our Site Liaison Engineer will have profound commercial awareness, coupled with the knowledge of internal processes (Operations, Financial Systems, Supply Chain etc) and their interrelationships.
