About the Opportunity
The Logistics Manager will undertake logistics tasks that ensure logistics activities are not a constraining factor on the programme.
The key responsibilities are:
  • Gather from the subcontractors their delivery forecasts and integrate those into an overarching delivery plan to identify any conflicts, peaks and troughs.
  • Produce daily, weekly and long-term forecasts and delivery plans for special deliveries
  • Manage the AWE delivery process and escort requirement for subcontractors deliveries
  • Using the overall delivery plan, look to re-balance deliveries to avoid large peaks and site congestion, prioritising special deliveries.
  • Together with the project, identify laydown areas and develop the approach to laydown/storage management for contractors use.
  • Maintain an asset register of all equipment. Ensuring all equipment is inspected, maintained and tested to agreed frequencies
  • Support the HS&E team where appropriate, including ensuring any Safety, Health and Environmental monitoring is completed as necessary.
  • Establish and operate an optimised waste management and recycling system for all construction and logistics activity, with coordinated interfaces with all principal contractors, to ensure safe and environmentally compliant and auditable removal of waste, materiel.

    Essential Qualifications / Experience
  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS / SSSTS
  • A track record of delivery within a construction management or logistics function (over the past 3 years)
  • Able to develop good relationships across a range of stakeholders
  • Organised and pro-active
  • Experience of managing costs in line with budget guidelines
  • Good planning skills to manage plans with 3rd parties
  • IT skills (e.g. Powerpoint, Word, Excel), including being able to produce and present effective reports
