Site Maintenance Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Somerset Environment Company (NSEC) supporting the continued growth of the business, based at our Offices in Weston-Super-Mare but working across our business operations.

NSEC are a local authority owned private company delivering environmental and highway maintenance solutions to residents and businesses across North Somerset. We are recruiting for a semi-skilled / experienced Site Maintenance Operative to provide routine and non-routine facilities maintenance across our 6 locations.

Working as a member of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) team, you will be responsible for undertaking repairs, maintenance and improvement works across our sites ensuring they are kept safe, secure and in good condition. You’ll undertake tasks which will be varied in nature but include general building and decoration, groundworks and installations, basic plumbing, and grounds maintenance.

We’d be very interested to hear from candidates who are semi-skilled / experienced in a general trades field or are willing to learn and develop their skills.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a buildings trade role and / or facilities maintenance role
• Multi-trade skills qualification or similar competence certificates
• Capability to work safely with a variety of manual and power tools (provided)
• Can demonstrate initiative and ability to work safely unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with colleagues and internal customers
• Driving licence as travel to sites will be required (depot-based van provided)
