Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Manchester and surrounding areas
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum

MIDAS is working with a growing and well established Lancashire based construction contractor who deliver both new build and refurbishment projects across residential student accommodation, extra-care, commercial and social housing. They have a successful track record of delivering exceptional work and are very much a business of choice for may of their supply chain. They have a strong pipeline of work and are looking for experienced Site Managers to join their team.
About the role:
Due to the winning of new work, a new role has been created for a Site Manager. Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing a number of new build projects across the North West. Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will manage all site. Day-to-day activities will include:
- Managing and co-ordinating all site personnel on a wide range of projects
- Liaising effectively with clients and the supply chain
- Ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures and standards
- Ensuring sites are delivered within budget and on programme
- Responsible for the health and safety of the site, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times
- Ensuring all necessary method statements and risk assessments are appropriate and in place in advance of the works, ensuring that all work is carried out strictly in accordance with these
- Closing out all issues raised by safety, quality and environmental reports and audits
- Ensuring the right safety culture is developed on site with site team and sub- contractors
- Recruiting, leading and motivating site teams
- Supervising and developing site staff and ensuring competency of individuals to carry out delegated duties
- Coordinating the activities of trades and subcontractors
- Establishing and monitoring key stage programmes
- Providing all necessary progress reports for internal and external reporting functions
- Controlling all aspects of the interface with the general public and external authorities
- Managing the design process and ensuring all necessary approvals are in place to allow project to progress without risk
- Ensuring that all work is kept to programme and all details specified in the drawings and instructions are adhered to
- Identifying and managing third party involvement
- Attending, chairing and minuting all necessary internal and external meetings
The successful applicant:
- You will be an experienced construction Site Manager with a successful track record of managing new build construction projects from inception to delivery
- Project experience of new build projects to include extensions across healthcare, NHS, residential, commercial up to a value of £5m
- Ability to manage and lead site teams, setting clear objectives
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to proactively build good relationships with customers and review service levels to meet and exceed expectations
- Skilled in monitoring and controlling costs against budgets
- Demonstrate a positive and pro-active attitude towards health and safety
- Good planning skills with the ability to think ahead, prioritising tasks and monitoring progress against plan, making alterations where necessary
