We currently have an opening for a full time Site Operative to work at our Reuse and Recycle Centre (RRC) at Summers Lane, Barnet.
LondonEnergy Ltd operates the second largest waste management companies in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across North London making a difference to the environment and the local community from the work we do. By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough energy from waste to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centre's.
Requirements
As a Site Operative you are responsible for:
- Controlling traffic management within the tipping hall, to operate mobile plant within the area, to inspect/sort loads/waste upon reception and ensure the working area is always kept clean.
- To use mobile plant as required to safety contain in and transfer material from the storage bays, including pushing up, and loading hoppers and lorries.
- Ensuring all weighbridge transactions are accurately recorded utilising the electronic audit system or manually in the event of systems failure. To operate static and mobile plant in the loading of bulk waste vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify potential hazards relating to all aspects of the operation, including customers, reporting any discrepancies to the Line Manager.
- Carry out waste inspection checks as per company policy or as directed, reporting any non-conforming wastes or dealing with same as required.
- Assist the Supervisors in the control of traffic within the tipping hall, and such other areas as may be directed.
- Ensure all weighbridge transactions are carried out without any delays in accordance with the Company's terms of contract.
- Monitor all traffic movements around the weighbridge and civic amenities site.
- Deal with all non-conforming waste and waste deliveries, including those not carrying the required documentation.
- Carry out daily routine maintenance checks to all plant.
- Operate the automatic barrier system for vehicles entering the bulk transfer station and civic amenities site.
- You must be available to work between 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Sunday. You will work on a 10 week rota which allows 3 weekends off and rest days during the week.
