The Governors are looking to appoint a part time Site Technician & Key holder working 18 hours per week on a whole year basis. The role will include opening the site Mon – Fri, general caretaking and maintenance of the school site, evening locking up and security checks. The successful candidate:
Will have some experience of working within maintenance roles.
Will support the Catholic ethos of the school, relating well to children and adults.
Check the heating, lighting, fire alarm and security systems are operating satisfactorily (making seasonal adjustments as required) and ensure checks are recorded accurately.
Work proactively to ensure all buildings and school site are clean and tidy, carrying out meter-reading, other basic checks and seasonal duties e.g. gritting paths/driveway in icy weather.
Undertake a range of general maintenance works upon the site as required, this may include basic joinery, painting & decorating, basic plumbing, waste disposal and minor repairs.
Under the supervision of the Office Manager, track the schools Asset Management Plan to ensure all planned maintenance work is carried out to schedule and follow up any outstanding works ensuring compliance with health and safety and / or property regulations.
Collate, file and update all fire, water, asbestos, electrical and other site / maintenance paperwork ensuring all records are in order and complete, ready for any audit / inspection.
Take part in any health & safety meetings / training / audits as required.
Be willing to undertake training relevant to the role and be committed to continuous improvement, offering ideas and solutions. Will unlock and secure the school premises at agreed times and be available for any emergency alarm call out (including evenings/weekends).
