Site Traffic Supervisor

The ST Group is a privately owned well established Timber Merchant and Timber Engineering company based in Leeds with an excellent reputation within the supply and sub contract sector of the Construction Industry.

The company operates a busy timber merchant and manufactures roof trusses, engineered floors and structural timber frame buildings for both the domestic and commercial sector in the north of England and throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth we are seeking to appoint a Site Traffic Supervisor to manage the vehicles coming in and out of the site as well as those that operate within the premises. The role will also involve checks on goods leaving the yard.

The position will be based at our production facility / works yard in Leeds on the Cross Green Industrial Park (LS9) close to the M1 and M62 motorway networks.

The Role –

· Speaking with incoming goods vehicle drivers and advising them when they can enter the premises and where to park up.

· Operating as a banksman for delivery vehicles and Shire HGVs.

· Helping customers visiting the Timber Merchant to park in the most suitable location.

· Ensuring that all drivers, including Shire Timber drivers, operate safely while moving around the site. This includes heavy goods vehicles and forklift vehicles.

· Ensuring that safe loading and offloading is practiced.

· Helping to direct visitors to the correct location.

· Performing spot checks on customer purchases leaving the premises.

· Helping to check delivery loads are loaded with the correct products.

· Perform periodic site checks, looking at areas were improvement is needed.

Essential Skills -

Experience in vehicle management preferred but not essential.

Good communication skills.

Job Type -

Full-time

This is a full time role. Standard hours will be 7.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. There may be overtime required as needed, including occasional Saturday mornings 8.00am – 12.00am.
