ARE YOU A SKILLED FITTER?

Our key Defence Client seeks skilled operatives to work in their world-class manufacturing facility.

This is a four day a week opportunity.

You must be capable of obtaining SC Clearance, and commit to three months (expensed) training in Bedfordshire, prior to completing the remainder of the three-year contract in Wales (Merthyr Tydfil).

As a minimum, you will be a Skilled Fitter / assembler - perhaps from an aircraft / aerospace / vehicular / trains / coach building background.

The successful candidate will join a thriving and modern environment, working from test procedures and engineering instructions on a programme critical to the MOD.

You will be tasked with performing precise and methodical completion of a range of test procedures on high value hardware.

• Ability to complete set ups and perform quality and performance testing.
• Ability to work from written instructions with limited supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment with high accuracy.
• Ability to liaise with the test support, engineering and Quality functions.
• Attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of “clean as you go”/6S/FOD/Tool control programs mandatory.
• Experienced with quality inspection points and process documentation.
• A very high level of health and safety awareness.
• Must be able to take direction well and is a strong team player.
• Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.

Excellent organisational skills and problem-solving skills.

Please note this role requires UK defence security clearance to SC level as a minimum, you must be SC clearable to apply for this role
