Skills Builder (Fixed term until 28 March 2024)

Salary: This is a Part Time role with a salary of up to £25,611 per annum pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Skills Builder to join my clients Student Services department. The purpose of the role is to improve the employability skills of our students and to be able to measure the impact of the training.

The successful applicant must have:

• GCSEs (Grade 1-4) or equivalent
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work as part of a team and independently as required
• The ability to work proactively
• The ability to deliver presentations to groups of students or on a one to one basis
• The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workloads
• Good attention to detail
• Prior experience of working with young people (age 16-18)
• Experience of general administration
• Experience working in an office/ customer facing environment

The roles main duties include:

• Understanding the Skills Builder system and delivering training sessions to staff and students.
• Identifying the skills gaps and putting together training plans for students to improve their competency skills.
• Ensuring all students (full time students) have completed the benchmark exercise which is part of Skills Builder.
• Delivering one to one and group workshops with students on the eight essential skills as detailed in Skills Builder.
• Designing workshops for lecturers to deliver Skills Builder workshops with their students.

This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

All employment offers are subject to a self-funded satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

This role would suit someone who has worked in the Education / Training & Administration sector.
