South Lanarkshire Council administers the recruitment process on behalf of SEEMiS Group LLP.

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional who can enhance the leadership team and support the Chief Executive in delivering and developing of a secure Education Management information System to Scottish Schools.

A Company Secretary is being sought for SEEMiS Group LLP, the single Education Management Information system provider to all 32 councils in Scotland. The key function of SEEMiS is to deliver technology-based solutions, software products and services to meet the evolving needs of the sector to ensure that the solutions are fit for the digital age.

SEEMiS is a not-for-profit organisation funded by its members - the 32 Scottish councils - and has its main office in Hamilton. As well as providing leadership and direction for the organisation, the Chief Executive reports to the Board and is accountable for the overall performance and operational efficiency of the organisation.

The Company Secretary, as a member of the Senior Management Team, will be responsible for the strategic business development of SEEMiS LLP (including business planning, charging model, promotion and marketing and business performance monitoring) and for the strategic financial management of the organisation (including adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements).

The Company Secretary will undertake the full remit of the support function for SEEMiS Group LLP including Board arrangements, HR/Employee Development, Procurement/contracts, Information Security, Risk Management, Asset Management and Policy development and implementation. They will ensure effective Corporate Governance arrangements are implemented across the organisation in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

The Company Secretary supports the Chief Executive as a champion for SEEMiS services for education within local government but also with the Scottish Government on strategies, policies and plans, and drives the development of partnerships with public, private and third sector organisations.
