Job Title: Smart Metering Field Manager
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
Roles & Responsibilities:
Field Activity Control and Auditing:
- Ensure the safety of the team through consistent application of company Health & Safety practices.
- Conduct regular audits and checks to maintain high safety standards.
Team Management:
- Effectively manage and lead direct reports, covering all aspects of performance management.
- Handle Human Resource matters including recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, sickness monitoring, timekeeping, disciplinary issues, and performance issues.
- Conduct regular performance reviews across the team.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Install and maintain a compliant Health & Safety culture, ensuring all objectives are met.
- Ensure all installations are accurate and compliant with industry regulations and standards.
- Ensure engineers have the correct equipment and PPE, conducting regular checks and facilitating repairs or replacements as necessary.
KPI Management:
- Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met across the team of engineers.
- Lead and motivate team members, ensuring awareness of commercial aspects.
Customer Focus and Service Delivery:
- Optimise service delivery and champion a customer-focused approach.
- Conduct root cause analysis of customer complaints, vehicle damage, on-site incidents, and quality standards.
- Implement best practices to achieve or exceed company targets for Health & Safety and service delivery.
Data Analysis and Decision Making:
- Analyse data to improve decision-making processes and implement changes to enhance performance and commercial outcomes.
Site Visits and Compliance Checks:
- Spend 4 days per week completing site visits, performing face-to-face van checks to ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Monitor daily van checks and carry spare assets and consumables to issue to engineers during site visits.
Administrative Duties:
- Carry out return-to-work forms and undertake probation reviews.
- Complete engineer inductions and update sickness records.
- Attend interviews with potential candidates and demobilize any leavers at the Aylesbury Office.
- Issue technical support and abort codes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in managing field teams, preferably in the Smart Metering or utilities industry.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement changes for performance improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in handling administrative tasks related to Human Resources and performance management.
Location: Aylesbury Office, with regular field visits as required.
