Location: Harrogate

Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE

The Company:

We are working with a independent insurance broker who have a fantastic reputation in the market and are looking to add an Account Handler to their SME team.

The Role:

As an SME Account Handler you will be responsible for the following:

• Providing technical and administrative support to relevant account execs in accordance with the company’s philosophies and standards.
• Assisting in the development of a profitable and growing account ensuring retention levels of existing books of business are kept to an acceptable level as well as assisting account exec’s in securing new business.
• Managing and building relationships with clients, promoting a favourable image of the company. A full-service delivery should be provided to all clients, ensuring that service standards are at the highest levels.
• Building a general knowledge of designated clients, their industry and business operations. A working knowledge of each client’s insurance history and the polices they have in force to be maintained.
• Assisting the account execs in providing bespoke insurances for designated clients. This includes pre-writing technical risk analysis, ensuring a working technical knowledge of policy coverage, clauses and exclusions.

The Required Skills:

Previous experience in SME/SBU insurance is preferable, other areas of insurance would be considered

Cert CII is preferable however, support will be provided

Strong IT, Communication, Time management skills

Experience negotiating with underwriters and working with account executives
