Group Infrastructure and Operations’ (GIO) Security Operations Centre (SOC) within Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS) are seeking a SOC Lead Tuning Analyst.

Our team provides the underpinning technology support for all other digital and technology services helping Defra’s strategic aim to improve the security posture of the organisation.

It's work with real-world impact! The UK Government is currently under heightened cyber alert due to the situation in Ukraine and this role is a key part of protecting Defra from cyber attacks.

We welcome applicants with experience of working in a Security Operations Centre as well as applicants from other technological backgrounds or graduates in a relevant subject who may wish to move into this field of work. We are looking for people with transferable technical skills and a keen interest in cyber security and a real passion and ability to make a difference. In Defra you will use your specialist cyber and security tooling skills to analyse emerging threats to our services and quickly react to implement new rules on our specialist security tooling. You will manage this activity for all services that have been on-boarded to the SOC, including major projects. These are high profile and major scale initiatives that cannot be left vulnerable for cyber-attacks which have generally been on the rise across the government estate.
