Social Media Manager

Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid position primarily based in Bristol. As part of the Corporate Communications Team, the Social Media team is responsible for supporting Social Media activity in customer service, marketing, business development, recruitment and incident communications management across the business globally. It also manages and maintains Computershare’s Social Media monitoring and management platform. The successful candidate will coordinate a global view of our Social Media platforms and work collaboratively across teams within the broader Corporate Communications team..

A role you will love

The Social Media Manager is responsible for protecting the Computershare brand and reputation globally on Social Media. The role works under the guidance of the Deputy Head of Corporate Communications to drive a Social Media strategy, develop guidelines and establish best practice to improve awareness of and engagement with the Computershare group, helping our global operation and business lines achieve their goals. Their work includes a range of Social Media activities, including direct responsibility for our corporate channels and supporting our business unit and other social accounts.

Key Responsibilities

As the Social Media Manager you will be responsible for setting the Social Media framework, policies and ensuring the team is adhering to best practices. Other Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide ownership, management and administration of our social channels as well as our Social Media monitoring and management software to manage risk and ensure users have appropriate access and permissions to carry out their roles.
  • Manage the Social Media team, including setting the team’s goals and objectives, ensuring team members are trained, supported, and developed.
  • Approval of content produced by teams beyond corporate communications.
  • Sourcing, creation, approval and editing of relevant corporate content for our Social Media accounts.
  • Lead on Social Media elements within the corporate communication teams’ management during incidents/crises and organisational change.
  • Monitor Social Media for mentions of Computershare and other relevant content, respond and report trends to the business.
  • Ensure the provision of training, guidance, support and resources for our Social Media monitoring/marketing teams, and other relevant personnel globally.
  • Lead the provision of Social Media support and advice to the business lines, including determining our corporate Social Media strategy and practices.
  • Support and occasionally lead on projects relevant to the Social Media and broader corporate communications team.
  • Undertake relevant administration for the team, including reporting and the documentation of processes.
  • Undertake Social Media research for specific tasks/projects and keep up to date with industry news to maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms and best practices to best support the wider business.

What will you bring to the role?

To be successful as the Social Media Manager you will have a comprehensive understanding of Social Media platforms and Social Media monitoring software. You will also likely have experience working as part of a corporate communications/marketing team within a corporate environment.

Other key skills:

  • Experience working with Sprinklr or other Social Media management systems.
  • An in-depth understanding of Social Media channels.
  • Previous experience managing a small team.
  • Good stakeholder management skills and ability to work with other relevant teams.

Compensation: £50,000 - £63,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
