Pay Rate: £37 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Hours: Full-time

Duties:

• Lead on the service development of delegated programmes of work relating to Moving and handling of people, principles of Moving with Dignity and single-handed care
• Provide practice leadership, by supporting the development of research informed practice, delivering a performance and quality assurance function, supporting staff development and contributing to strategic development in the organisation related to Moving and Handling of people
• Works with colleagues in Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS) to ensure that Moving and Handling assessment and practice has consistent approach across Social Care services
• Represents Adult Social Care at relevant and appropriate decision-making forums providing information or professional input as required
• Works closely with Operations Managers and Practice Lead Managers to ensure the delivery of a consistent and proactive service, where workers feel supported and empowered to deliver their role
• Works closely with partner Health and care provider agenciesto ensure integrated approach to Moving and handling of people

Requirements of the Adults Moving with Dignity Lead Practitioner:

• Demonstrates a high visible engagement with staff and partners across health and provider services providing coaching, informal/formal discussion to create a learning environment that supports development and continuous improvement in delivery of Moving with Dignity principles and care
• Have a range of either professional or specialist knowledge or experience
• HR skills can comprise of being in a managerial role requiring motivating, developing and ensuring the health and wellbeing of a dedicated staff group and/or HR skills in influencing peer and senior managers
• Professional qualification registered as Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist registered to Health and Care Professionals Council, or registered nurse to Nursing Midwifery Council OR have a post graduate certificate in Ergonomics & Human Factors qualification
• Moving and Handling of people trainer Level 4 accredited or willing to undertake this within 6 months
• Evidence of continuing professional development and membership of professional body
• Extensive experience of working as a moving and handling practitioner with people who have complex needs and require specialist support and interventions
• Evidence of working with people experiencing multiple Disadvantages
• Experience of delivering, monitoring and planning services at anoperational level
• Experience of undertaking Change Management, planning and implementing new ways of working in a complex environment
• Experience of successfully managing activity and performance targets
