1 Permanent Post & 1 Maternity Cover Post for 12 months
Newport's Children and Young People Services are seeking to appoint Social Work Assistants to the Pathway Service. There is a range of opportunities working with young people in need of care and support, subject to special guardianship orders, children and young people who are looked after, care leavers, unaccompanied asylum seeking young people, those who are placed with their families in preparation for adulthood and young people who present as homeless.
You will need an understanding of young people experiencing disadvantage, an ability to cope with stressful situations and an ability to communicate effectively.
Some experience working with vulnerable children and young people would be useful.
We offer excellent supervision, development and training opportunities.
You must be educated to "A" level standard or possess an NVQ Level 3 Social Care Qualification.
This post is exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
