Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Qualified Social Worker to join our Court Team at Wakefield Council. This role focuses on handling Care Proceedings, adoption, and pre-birth assessments. As a Social Worker in this team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children and families involved in the legal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of families involved in Care Proceedings, adoption, and pre-birth cases.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to gather information and formulate detailed reports.
- Representing Wakefield Council in court proceedings, providing expert testimony and evidence.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
- Conducting pre-birth assessments to evaluate potential risks and support needs.
- Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring their rights are upheld throughout legal processes.
- Upholding high standards of practice, adhering to legal and organizational frameworks.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (HCPC).
- Proven experience in handling Care Proceedings, adoption, and pre-birth assessments.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for court representation and report writing.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to upholding professional standards, ethics, and continuous learning.
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
