An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Perth Locality Social Work Team for a temporary full time Social Worker to a cover a secondment for a period of 12 months. This post will be based in Pullar House and the successful candidate will work with adults requiring a Social Work Service across Perth City Locality. You will work with a range of partner agencies and services in various settings to support service users. In this role, duties include: carrying out Outcome Focussed Assessments, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages. Responsibilities will also include statutory work under the Adults with Incapacity Act and the Adult Support and Protection Act. You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of social work principles and values.
We are looking for a Social Worker who is highly motivated and able to manage a busy caseload autonomously whilst dealing with many competing demands. You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of social work principles and values and be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills. The successful candidate should have experience of Adult Support and Protection Legislation and procedures and all relevant legislation relating to this role. You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification (Degree in Social Work, DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or other relevant Social Work qualification) and be registered as a Social Worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or within 6 months of commencing employment and will be further responsible for maintaining your annual membership. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are also essential to this role.
The Individual
This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their Social Work Degree but have not yet graduated. In this circumstance, a Social Work Assistant contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
