SalaryCopello are looking for Software Configuration Management engineers to join an engineering consultancy to support a defence client on a long term project. The role will be supporting the Software Configuration process definition, management, and audit to ensure our client has a world class Configuration Management approach in place for the next phase of their cutting edge programme.
Responsibilities
Define the Software Configuration Strategy for the Project and agree with all Stakeholders.
Create Software Configuration Management Plans and associated documentation to ensure a robust process on the programme.
Drive a culture of accuracy and compliance into the software projects IPT's.
Define the change management approach and facilitate the execution of the defined process across all software IPT's.
Ensure that all Software Products at End-Product and SW Component level are configured and that their status accounting is readily available.
Conduct Audits of the software IPT's compliance to the defined process to ensure compliance, and identify and further improvements to the processes.
Essential skills
An understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with Safety Critical Standards.
An understanding of the five key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audit / Verification.
Experience of Software Configuration Management at the point of release into the Product structure.
Experience of Configuration Control during Software development.
Configuration Management experience in the development of Safety critical products.
Use of Product Management Tools - Such as TeamCenter or SAP.
Ability to conduct Audits on the Software Configuration process and report findings.
Experience with robust Configuration Management tools such as PVCS/Dimensions or PTC Integrity.
Robust Administration Skills with a keen eye to detail.
The role is offering £60 -£70 per hour (outside IR35). Role will require 3 days a week in Barrow, the role will have potential for a long term project. Client will also provide accommodation expenses for candidates who require to stay away.
