About Auto Trader
We’re Auto Trader, the UK's leading automotive marketplace and a FTSE 100 tech-listed company, uniting the largest and most engaged consumer audience with the most extensive network of vehicle sellers. At our core, it's all about people. We embrace diversity, celebrate our differences, and forge our own path. Our six core values define our distinct culture, and our dedication to in-person collaboration sets us apart.
About the role
Our apprentices feel supported from the moment they join. Their mentors and our dedicated early careers team are always there for them. And our collaborative, people-first culture means that help and support come naturally. It brings out the very best in them. It’ll bring out the best in you, too.
As an Apprentice Software Developer, you will complete a degree in BSc Digital & Technology Solutions (Level 6 Specialist Apprenticeship). Throughout the programme, you will spend at least 20% of your time learning and the rest of your time developing your skills in one of our engineering teams.
Our Software Developers take an object-orientated approach to programming and use techniques such as TDD, refactoring, and debugging to deliver seamless user experiences. From the start, you'll interact with our developer community to understand our diverse tech stack and ways of working. These include elements from Agile, XP, Scrum, Kanban and TDD.
Our teams are made up of Technical, Product and Delivery Leads, UX, Test and Data Analysts and Developers. Interactions such as pairing, code reviews and regular stand-ups will help lay the foundations for your career in software development.
