Overview:
As an Software Developer Apprentice, you will play a vital role in our technology-driven environment, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of our diverse software systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Software Development:
- Contribute to the development of customer-facing applications, such as Online Ordering Systems and Artwork Editing Solutions
- Work on internal systems for production, workflow automation, and other in-house applications
Standalone Solutions:
- Develop standalone solutions to address specific business challenges, demonstrating problem-solving skills and creativity
Problem Solving and Debugging:
- Troubleshoot and debug issues within existing software systems, ensuring smooth functionality and user satisfaction
User Acceptance Testing:
- Engage in user acceptance testing to validate the performance and usability of developed applications
Data Management:
- Work with spreadsheets and data input, contributing to data management and analysis processes
System Maintenance:
- Participate in routine system maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and security
User Assistance:
- Provide support and assistance to internal users, addressing queries and resolving technical issues
Continuous Learning:
- Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and best practices to enhance skills and contribute to ongoing innovation
What we are looking for:
Essential skills and qualities:
- Not afraid to work hard and has a good work ethic
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on diverse software development tasks
- Familiarity with customer-facing applications and user interface design principles
- Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting issues within software systems
- Basic understanding of data management and spreadsheet operations
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Entry requirements:
7 GCSE's total:
- English GCSE grade D or above
- Other 6 GCSE's, including Maths, to be C or above
You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:
37.5 hours a week – Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm.
