A truly exciting opportunity has become available within a Bristol software company who are looking for an experienced, software Team Leader to inspire and lead a team of talented, backend software engineers!
Are you interested to keep hands on with the technology 50% of your time, and then spend the other 50% line managing developers?

About The Role:
The Software Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of software devs to design and develop applications with super high scalability and reliability!
Their software processes 100,000's requests and they are looking to enhance and advance their current product so have invested in big data & cloud native technologies - so we are looking for an engineer/leader with knowledge and experience of Kafka and Java or Kotlin. They're on a journey migrating from Java over to Kotlin currently, and are on track to be there this year so it's a really exciting time to join them and bring your expertise.
Your time as the Software team Leader will be split across design, development and also managing the team's work load, prioritising tasks to ensure the team are delivering projects on time.
You'll be contributing to management and promoting best practices within your team, helping your developers to excel further and build great products.
Experience needed:
- You are a passionate and empathetic leader who loves to support and inspire your team!
- Track record of mentoring, leading, managing a team of software engineers with 5+ people
- Experienced in performance management and coaching developers
- You're experienced in designing and developing Microservice architectures
- Technical skills in either Java and/or Kotlin, Spring boot, Typescript/React, Kafka, Kubernetes, MongoDB and PostgreSQL
- Ability to support a team through the full software delivery cycle all whilst upstanding best engineering practices
