You’ll be part of the team building the next evolution of our innovative, social-casino gaming platform which enables igaming operators in North America to provide customised and fun social-casino experiences to their players easily and quickly whilst adhering to our “do no harm” ethos. Currently we have over 10,000 monthly active users and see over $32million in game play each month.

???? This role

As Software Engineering Manager, you will be leading a multidisciplinary team of software engineers. Your responsibilities will include designing and executing operational and strategic processes and procedures whilst leading the team to success.

???? What You Will Do

This is a senior position within our business which responsible for management of the people and teams, with ownership of Ruby Play's internal and external platforms and services.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • You'll work with the leadership team establishing, planning and executing departmental strategies, objectives and operational processes and procedures.
  • Driving the full software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Managing a team of Software Engineers, including regular goal setting, one on ones, performance reviews, recruitment and any other management support functions associated with your team.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, identify project dependencies and establish long-term goals.
  • Leading and promoting best practice in agile methodologies.
  • Providing hands on assistance to the team to deliver code, whilst assisting with code reviews and providing high level technical guidance and assistance.
  • Continuously evaluating the department performance and setting goals to ensure continuous improvements are made.

???? Your Skills

The required skills for your role include:

  • Extensive Software Engineering experience, ideally derived from a similar role.
  • Ideally a minimum of 5-7 years experience of working within a senior Software Engineering role.
  • People Management experience.
  • Proficiency in software testing techniques, testing tools, incident/defect tracking systems and other test-support tools.
  • Experience with Scrum methodology as well as tools such as Jira, Confluence and Cypress.
  • The ability to self-manage and prioritise your work.
  • Have a commitment to whanaungatanga - enjoy working with teams made up of a diverse range of people and skill sets.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a close team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive and organised.
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail.
