The role of the Software Engineering Manager entails the leadership and management of teams comprising software engineers and testers. Their primary responsibility is to provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to foster the development of a highly efficient and cohesive team. They offer clear technical and career guidance to enable team members to achieve and sustain a remarkable level of operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers and testers, providing guidance, mentoring and coaching.
  • Ensure best practices in Software Development are maintained.
  • Ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability of code and software architecture.
  • Monitor team performance, set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide feedback.
  • Working with Scrum Masters, identify and address any issues or challenges faced by the team and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Drive a generative culture of high cooperation where learning is the heart of everything we do.
  • Work closely with the Product Design Team to manage the resources required to achieve the product roadmaps considering recruitment, training, and the acquisition of tools and frameworks in a timely fashion to avoid delays in delivery.
  • To be an advocate of the Agile development practices employed by the development function.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies and seek opportunities to apply them to the team's work.
  • Promote and develop a culture of Continual improvement where Engineering teams are continually striving to be the best.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients, providing regular updates on product progress and issues to manage expectations.
