Job description

I have a great opportunity available for a Software Tester/ QA with a Biomechanics / sport science, biomedical/ motion capture/ tracking background. A little niche I hear you say, well yes….but for good reason ?? The position is to join my client who develop products used by clinical researchers, medical professionals and hospitals to track the movement of patients and sports professionals. This helps them to tailor treatment for injuries, help develop prosthetic limbs or use it to enhance training plans for sports professionals. Their products combine a mixture of software and hardware and with a lot of biomedical lingo they said it would be super beneficial to have someone from this sort of background who really understands the terminology .

The company has an office just outside of Oxford and they would like people who are happy to go into the office 2 days a week. The company is in an incredible spot, having grown substantially over the past few years (with no redundancies or furlough of staff over Covid - 19)

They employ around 200 people in total with a tech team of approximately 80 people, They work as agile as they can and have an established QA team of 7 and are now expanding . You'll be working as a part of a team on their product working with other QA's and working closely with developers.

You will be involved in the hands on testing of new features as well as regression testing. They work within an agile environment and love people who have great communications skills as you'll be taking part in scrums, sprint planning sessions and reviews, as well as informal catchups with the QA and development teams.

Their products are predominantly desktop-based with a hardware element to them (hence the requirement to be in the office a couple of times a week). Their ideal person will have a couple of years experience testing and have tested desktop based software products previously with some sort of hardware element to them. You'll also have some kind of Biomechanics / sport science, biomedical background, whether through a University degree or through employment.

Salary is up to £40,000. If you'd like to hear more please apply below to Sam Miller at SR2 - Socially Responsible Recruitment
