Coalesce Management Consultancy (CMC) have an consulting assignment available for a Software Safety Engineer in the North West.

Currently we’re looking for a Software Safety Engineer to help us provide solutions on a project based in the North West.

This client are a leading provider of highly specialised solutions for the rail industry. They are coming to the end of the design phase of a programme and require a Software Safety Engineer to verify and modify Embedded C code to EN50128 standards.

You’ll be working with the Architecture and coding teams to ensure that the code follows the strict safety standards of the rail industry. This project is set to start in January and we aim to secure the best consultant possible this side of Christmas. This role can be worked on a remote basis and outside IR35.

No prior experience in the rail sector is required for this role, but the following skills would be advantageous:

• Embedded C
• Object Oriented Programming
• EN50128 Rail Safety Standard, or relevant standards in Aerospace, Medical or Automotive
• Code Review and Verification
• Modification of existing code where needed
• Ability to interpret UML
• SafeTTy Certification would be advantageous
