Software Tester

We are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of talented professionals and right now we’re seeking to recruit a skilled and detail-oriented Software Tester to join our passionate and collaborative group of professionals at our offices based in Wallingford, Oxford.

As our Software Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with the development team to understand project requirements, carrying out manual and automated tests on software and identify and report defects. Your efforts will contribute to the delivery of high-quality software that exceeds our customers expectations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Develop and carry out manual and automated tests on the software developed by the team.
  • Devise manual tests, using careful planning and lots of imagination.
  • Design and implement and execute automated tests using technologies such as: Selenium, TestIM, PostMan
  • The product technologies include:
    • Cloud, Web, Mobile, Bluetooth
    • Javascript, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS
  • ‘Fit for purpose’ includes both functional and non-functional aspects, such as security, performance and scalability.
• Report and track defects, working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Software Tester or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Strong understanding of technologies such as
  • Web (HTML, CSS, etc)
  • Database (e.g. MS SQL)
  • API calls (e.g. PostMan)
• Programming skills necessary for developing automated tests
  • E.g. Python
• Appreciation of version control tools (e.g. GIT)
• Appreciation of good and bad UX practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
