Soil Scientist Contract

Your new company

My client is a part of a group that offers a range of services including Ecological and GI consultancy. They were established over 40 years ago and have provided services to their clients nationally ever since. They work on a range of large scale infrastructure projects as well as conservation and others.

Your new role

• Task management and supervision and management of soil surveys and geo-environmental ground investigations.
• Supervision of field work including soil logging and environmental sampling, chemical and geotechnical testing, groundwater sampling and ground gas monitoring.
• Data collation, review and interpretation.
• Support with ground investigation scope and design.
• Support with development of client relationships.
• Preparation and review of technical reports including desk studies, ground investigation reports and environmental statements.
• Experience of soil survey, preparation of soil management plans and input into environmental statements.
• Knowledge of the requirements in planning, designing and management of geo-environmental and contaminated land ground investigations.
• Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and their application to safe design and implementation of ground investigations.
• Report writing including presenting complex technical information.

What you\'ll need to succeed

• Relevant technical degree e.g., geology, engineering, chemistry, or environmental science.
• A higher degree in soil science, contaminated land, environmental science or similar, is desirable.
• Full UK Drivign License and vehicle

• £200 - £800 p/day roughly (expenses to be included in the rate)
