Daniel Owen is seeking dedicated and skilled Solar Installers. As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will collaborate with a team of installers, electricians, and project managers to ensure high-quality installations that meet customer requirements and adhere to industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
· Install solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, racking, and electrical components, according to project specifications and design plans.
· Conduct site assessments to determine the feasibility of solar installations and identify any potential installation challenges.
· Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
· Safely operate hand and power tools and equipment required for solar installations.
· Perform rooftop and ground-mounted solar panel installations, including mounting, wiring, and interconnection.
· Install and connect electrical components, such as conduits, junction boxes, and wiring, in compliance with electrical codes.
· Collaborate with electricians and other team members to perform electrical connections and terminations.
· Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functioning and performance of solar PV systems.
· Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues or system malfunctions in a timely manner.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and accounted for.
· Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety among the installation team.
· Provide guidance and training to junior installers as needed.
· Complete required documentation and paperwork, including installation reports and quality control checklists.
Requirements:
· Proven work experience as a Solar Installer or in a similar role.
· Knowledge of solar PV systems, components, and installation techniques.
· Familiarity with relevant building codes, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
· Ability to read and interpret design plans, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
· 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382): This is a beneficial qualification for any role involving electrical work.
· IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Certification: If the job involves working at height, this certification could be beneficial.
· PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers' & Manufacturers' Association) Training: This is useful for roles involving the use of mobile access towers.
· Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in solar installations.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot installation issues effectively.
· Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour, including working at heights and in various weather conditions.
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
· Valid UK driving license.
· Relevant certifications or training in solar installations are desirable.
