MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Immediate opportunity to work with a growing team within an expanding manufacturing metal company who specialise in high end household metal parts and components. They produce a range of quality bespoke products from a variety of metals including Brass, Chrome and Nickel.

Main duties
- Operate bending Machines and soldering equipment (Soft Solder & Silver Solder) as requested
- Ensure that cycle times are achieved and the quality standard is met.
- Other duties include trimming, testing & inspection.
- Recognise, identify and rectify or report all quality defects and failures to achieve the required standards.
- Ensure work instructions and procedures are followed at all times.
- Recognise and report exceptional requirements or shortfalls for parts and components.
- Train and develop new team members to the standard required.
- Report any issues to the team leader.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards and ensure 5S standards are maintained.
- Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
- Hand soldering bathroom metal components and products
- Carrying out soft soldering and weight bearing hard soldering
- Melting and applying solder along adjoining edges of work pieces using a soldering iron and gas torch equipment.
- Ensuring snug fits before joining them.
- Removing work pieces from molten solder and holding them together until the solder sets.
- Cleaning work pieces using chemical solutions, files, wire brushes, or grinders.
- Applying flux to work piece surfaces in preparation for soldering.
- Heating the soldering iron or work piece to the specified temperature for soldering.
- Aligning and clamping work pieces together using tools or positioning items in vice or fixtures
Soldering Pay Grade Structure
Grade 1
- All soft solder products on the hearth.
- Trimming.
- Testing.
Grade 2
- All of grade 1 plus.
- All soft solder and silver solder on the shuttles, to the right quality standard.
- Set and Operate Star Automatic Bender.
Grade 3
- All of grade 1 & 2 Plus.
- All silver solder products on the hearth, to the right quality standard.
- Set and operate the manual bender.
- Inspection.
Hours:x1 NIGHTS 6pm to 6am Mon to thurs only - 46 hours
(Note; training will be carried out over 2-3mths working days 6am-4pm before transferring to nights shift)
X1 DAYS 6am to 3pm Mon to Thurs and 6 to 12.30 fri 40 hours
