Early Careers - Apprenticeships

Job Description

We're Norton Rose Fulbright - a global law firm with over 50 offices and 7,000 employees worldwide. As well as the relevant skills and experience, we're looking for people who are innovative, commercial and value the work that they do. We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view and believe diversity drives innovation, so we're building a culture where difference is valued.

Have you thought about law? Are you worried about the costs of university or put off by how competitive it is to obtain a job as a trainee solicitor? Perhaps you are simply keen to get into the world of work and start building a career. If so, Norton Rose Fulbright's Apprenticeship Programme might be for you.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to develop to their full potential, which is why we have launched our Apprenticeship Programme to offer an additional route to qualifying as a solicitor. Our apprentices will work alongside and learn from some of the brightest minds in their field, helping to solve some of our clients' most complex legal and business problems while learning the academic and practical skills needed to excel as a lawyer. They will receive a high standard of training from us while studying one day per week. Our Apprenticeship Programme is designed to provide each Apprentice with deep embedded skills in one of our key practice areas - Corporate, Banking or Disputes - or one of our specialist areas (such as Intellectual Property or Financial Services), providing each Apprentice with a unique experience with can be adapted to suit their individual strengths and the opportunity to become an expert in the relevant practice area from an early stage.

We have between three and seven vacancies for talented individuals to join our Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme starting in September 2024. We are looking for lawyers of the future - enterprising, digitally minded individuals with the intellectual curiosity and aptitude needed to thrive in our legal business.

This Apprenticeship Programme application window is open everyone who has completed their A-Levels, or final school year leavers who are completing their A-Levels in 2024, and will take place over six years. Applicants should not have completed a university degree and should have the right to work in the UK.

On successful completion of the Programme, our apprentices will have achieved a LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice degree and a Level 7 Apprenticeship, qualifying as solicitors. The starting salary will be £28,000, and will increase year on year commensurate with a graduate trainee solicitor salary by the fifth year. All study fees will be paid by Norton Rose Fulbright. Securing a place on this programme is subject to a successful application, psychometric testing, telephone interview and assessment day - support will be provided by our early careers team to guide you through this process.

To be considered we require you to have obtained and be on track to achieving AAB at A-Level (or equivalent, i.e. BTEC), however we understand that a successful team only thrives with a diverse range of skills, therefore we are also interested to hear about your strengths and motivations, as well as your extra-curricular achievements. Be assured that we run a fair and contextualised recruitment programme, therefore any mitigating circumstances will also be taken into consideration. For more information on contextualised recruitment please click here.

Applications for this role close on Sunday 18th February 2024.

Our Apprenticeship Programme assessment day will take place in-person in April.
