It is rated by the Legal 500 as being in the first (top) tier in the region with partners who are ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers as Leading Individuals.The team tries to settle disputes through negotiation at the earliest possible stage, encouraging the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution processes, including mediation, where appropriate to achieve swift and cost-effective resolution of disputes.Where litigation is necessary, there is the expertise to take the most complex disputes to trial and achieve the best result.To provide a high-quality legal service to clients on all aspects of Commercial Dispute Resolution, in line with the firm's standards of performance. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a high-quality legal service to clients on all aspects of Commercial Dispute Resolution including those relating to:
Commercial contracts
- Shareholder, company, and boardroom issues
- Corporate debt recovery
- Product Liability
- Professional negligence
- Insolvency
- Mediation
Utilise existing technical knowledge and skills to effectively:
Analyse information and provide legal and commercially aware advice. o Understand and adhere to instructions.
Communicate succinctly both orally and in writing.
Research appropriate case law and technical and legal precedents to progress matters.
Progress own matters and work more closely with other team members on more complex matters.What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications: Educated to degree level (with at least a 2:1) and a strong LPC pass or equivalent and hold a clean practising certificate from the SRA.
Skills and Experiences
- c.3 years PQE in this area of legal work including experience of providing strategic advice to commercial clients and having a good knowledge of relevant legal issues.
- Experience of working on cases for corporate and medium to large entities, having contact with a variety of decision-makers (desirable).
- Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to appropriately adapt communication style when working with clients.
- IT literate and self-sufficient in using document management systems, MS Office applications and the internet as a business tool.
