About the role:
In the Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) Platform, our mission is to reduce harm to our communities by enhancing the Group's capability to prevent, detect and respond to economic crime. The Platform sits within Consumer Relationships and plays a critical role in providing services across the whole Group.
What you'll be doing...
Our lab
The Customer Lab is one of four Labs that make up the ECP Platform.
It is vital for the Group to know who our customers are, the economic crime risk they pose, and whether they sit within our risk appetite in a timely and efficient way.
We provide Group wide solutions ensuring compliance with Sanctions, we use huge quantities of data to understand customer risk including international tax status, and we ensure fraudulent or previously exited customers do not access our products and services.
We constantly adapt our treatment strategies to reflect emerging trends and changes in risk appetite. We're also on an exciting journey to provide more real time solutions, which will enable all areas of the Group to offer new innovative products and services to Customers in a faster and more convenient way, whilst ensuring we keep our Customers, the Group and our wider Communities safe from harm.

We're looking to recruit a Solution Architect to work in the Customer Lab. This role is all about creating a cooperative, innovative, and dynamic partnership across architecture, engineering, and business communities so we're looking for a real team player.

Here's how you'll make a difference:
- Collaborating with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers to build the Architectural runway for our Platform teams. Once baselined, our Solution Architects continuously invest in maintaining the Architecture runway underpinning our Platform teams.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture & service providers to elaborate on solutions, their interfaces and validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives and software lifecycle risks, assumptions, issues & dependencies.
- Providing analysis of options and deliver end-to-end solution designs using relevant architectural building blocks as well as producing designs for features that enable frequent incremental customer value delivery.
- Promoting adaptive design practises to drive collaboration across Platform teams centring on a common vision with continuous feedback.
- Taking ownership of the technical design risks or issues and driving resolution through architectural or agile practises
- Leveraging industry best practise, frameworks, standards & policies in creating opportunities & value for our customers.
- Setting guiding principles and solution success criteria for platform capability or feature development across our Platforms.
- Providing oversight & foster built in quality, decoupled & modernised architectures.
What we're looking for...
Key skills, knowledge and experience required to be successful in this role:
- Creative and innovative, with ability to think 'creatively' to solve problems and assess impacts in a complex and inter-dependent systems architecture
- Ability to consider the 'big picture' when making design decisions in terms of breadth of architecture, impacts, transition paths and both short, and long-term goals.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, containerisation, cloud native and event-driven design concepts.
- Good understanding of API standards, security and gateway patterns
- Good understanding of data technologies - SQL/NoSQL, Big Data
- Good knowledge of cloud based architecture
- Strong Software Engineering and Architecture background
Desirable knowledge, skills & experience:
- Experience working with security and infrastructure teams.
- Experience in Economic Crime Prevention.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and of working as part of an Agile multi-disciplinary team
- TOGAF qualifications or working towards qualification
