• Daily Rate: £700 - 750 per day inside IR35

We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our esteemed architecture team at a company with a rich history spanning 500 years. This role is pivotal in defining and delivering projects that will transform and grow a parcels-led business. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong stakeholder management skills and a proven track record in designing and delivering large-scale, complex integrated IT solutions.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Develop project blueprints into solution designs as business needs are clarified, ensuring adherence to requirements and design principles.
• Prepare Solution Architect designs that align with the overall solution’s target vision.
• Develop technology specifications and leverage existing technologies for optimal business use.
• Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet business requirements, considering key factors such as scalability and security.
• Ensure alignment of process, application, data, and technology architecture.
• Identify technologies for use and oversee the assurance and governance of supplier solutions.
• Partner with business analysis to provide technical oversight, ensuring IT solutions meet end-user needs.
• Manage a large and varied workload, prioritising effectively to meet project demands.
• Communicate complex technical designs to both business stakeholders and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in technical architecture roles across all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to self-start.
• Track record of design and delivery of large-scale, complex integrated IT solutions.
• Expertise in advising on the design of systems architectures.
• Ability to communicate complex technical designs to a wide range of audiences.

Desirable:

• Experience in complex analysis, consulting, and providing technical recommendations.
• Experience in the planning, architecture, and implementation of Solution Architecture aspects such as Services, Applications, Integration, or Data.
• Knowledge of enterprise-wide systems architectures.
• Experience in planning, designing, and implementing applications and data in a complex distributed environment.
• Practical experience in service, application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
• Experience in systems delivery including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and support.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience transitioning from Waterfall to Agile delivery methodologies.
