About the opportunity...
As a Solutions Architect at Poundland & Dealz, you will be responsible for delivering Solutions Architecture for our Customer Channels within the IT function. You will drive alignment to ensure that IT collectively delivers a simpler, flexible, and sustainable architecture that supports our business strategy. This role involves designing and architecting IT solutions to deliver our business objectives, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the development of a target enterprise architecture.

What you'll be doing...
- Architect solutions for customer channel solutions to enable the delivery of our business digital strategy and IT objectives.
- Support the development of a target enterprise architecture aligned with our business and technology strategies.
- Identify optimal technology solutions for our digital strategy, increasing agility and driving simplicity and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to strategic technology plans and empower subject matter experts to deliver those plans.
- Ensure appropriate governance through Design Authority and architecture reviews.
- Maximize business benefits while minimising risks through solution development.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external service providers.
- Communicate architecture solution decisions regularly to align with technology and business strategy.
- Ensure architecture compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Develop architecture models and materials describing the architecture landscape and standards.
- Drive a commercially focused approach to technology roadmaps, seeking the best value for solution investments.
- Operate in a fast-moving retail environment, managing multiple projects in parallel.
- Lead by example in developing trust-based relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Architect solutions that drive Performance for Growth.
- Assist colleagues at all levels to understand the bigger picture and aid decision-making.
- Deputise for the Head of Architecture and regularly update the Senior IT Leadership Team.
What you'll need...
Qualifications:
- Degree in a computing discipline (desirable)
- TOGAF Certified Architect (desirable)
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Infrastructures (On-prem and Cloud), SaaS and PaaS technologies, Integration Tools (ETL/ESB/Middleware/APIs), End-to-End Retail solutions, eCommerce, and Loyalty platforms.
Skills:
- Technology understanding across Software, Infrastructure, Security, and Data.
- Solution shaping, problem-solving, solution portfolio analysis, architecture modeling.
- Proficient in technical writing, documentation, verbal and written communication, influence, negotiation, program management, and stakeholder management.
Experience:
- Proven experience in developing and delivering digital solutions within a technology landscape.
- Designing digital solutions (eCommerce and loyalty) on major programs.
- Creation, communication, and embedding of Technology strategy.
- Supplier management and influencing.
