Sourcing Engineer – Procurement - 12-month Fixed term contract
Greater Manchester based (hybrid working)
£40,000 – £45,000 plus bonus and benefits
A Sourcing Engineer is wanted on an initial 12-month FTC by a global Engineering client of ours who is at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. In this role, the successful candidate will help to foster the best possible supplier relationships with our client, ensuring a strong supply chain.
This is a Fixed Term Contract opportunity that includes a base salary of between £40,000 - £45,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications plus bonuses and benefits.
Overview of the Sourcing Engineer role:
- Take charge of expediting suppliers, ensuring seamless adherence to project timelines, and proactively managing part availability, crucial for project success.
- Elevate contract coverage, adeptly negotiating and finalizing supply agreements with key suppliers to optimize expenditure allocation.
- Craft a resilient local supply strategy that harmonizes seamlessly with the client’s global procurement objectives, goals, strategies, and benchmarks.
- Foster collaboration across regional boundaries by engaging proactively with other local Systems Procurement teams, sharing insights, and driving best practices.
Key skills required for the Sourcing Engineer role:
- Possess a relevant degree or equivalent work experience, with several years of procurement experience.
- Candidates should have a diverse category knowledge with a focus on castings and machining.
- Candidates should have strong negotiation and planning skills alongside excellent supplier management skills.
