South DerbyshireCriminal Justice Substance Misuse Practitioner
Full time, permanent contract
£23,000 per annum (top of scale £27,500)
The Derbyshire Recovery Partnership are looking to recruit a Substance Misuse Practitioner for a fantastic opportunity in south Derbyshire, working intensively with clients presenting with drug and alcohol issues, are involved in the Criminal Justice system, and who may be in prison or in the community.
This specific role will involve both community and prison in-reach work, delivering a high level of intense interventions and support to a small caseload of clients, leading on the delivery of group work across south Derbyshire and, where required, collecting vulnerable people from prison and assisting them to engage with structured community-based provisions. You caseload work will involve co-ordinating care and delivering psychosocial and harm reduction interventions to clients in structured 1:1 key work and group work sessions that may be subject to court orders (ATR/DRR/RAR). Your group work will involve developing and delivering a specialist structured group work programme to suit the needs of this complex cohort. You will work alongside local Integrated Offender Management (IOM) teams, courts, Liaison and Diversion, Prison healthcare, Probation services. The focus of this role is to focus on ensuring people leaving prison engage with community teams and have structured group work provisions to promote and educate clients on a range of topics underpinned by harm reduction and behaviour change.
This role will be based in South Derbyshire (in either Ripley, Ilkeston or Swadlincote), working 37.5 hours per week; Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, on a permanent contract.

Ideal candidates will also be able to demonstrate experience of groupwork facilitation and engagement of people with multiple and complex needs.
