We understand hospitality can involve anti-social hours. All contracted staff who earn less than £37,000 full-time annual salary can earn up to an additional £3.00 per hour:

Sunday - Thursday from 7pm - 5am = extra £1.00 per hour

Saturday and Sunday from 5am - 7pm = extra £2.00 per hour

Friday and Saturday evening from 7pm - 5am = extra £3.00 per hour!

We also recognise everyone plays their part to provide amazing service.

On top of your salary you canearn up to £1,000 service charge per quarter (points based criteria for eligibility).

Role Overview

To support the Spa Team to execute an excellent guest and member experience. The role will include the day-to-day floor management of all spa front of house areas, working closely with the Treatment, Reception and Rooftop Spa departments to support communication, ensure facilities are in good order, and take ownership of the day. To manage guests in the Spa and ensure all are adhering to the Spa rules, concerning health and Safety, guest experience and etiquette. To be confident to address guest complaints, and offer resolutions to the guest's satisfaction. To ensure a safe and relaxing environment for all guests and staff and that all public areas are at the standard expected at all times, via spot-checking and following procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the Spa Team to provide services to guests and ensure a safe environment for all guests and staff.
  • Engage and talk to guests where necessary, exceed expectations and be proactive.
  • Manage the guest's expectations, monitor behaviours, pre-empt, and act on problems before they happen.
  • Ensure all Spa equipment is kept safe and in good working order to include electrical devices, keys and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure that all water testing and associated records are completed on time and up to date with any anomalies reported to the Head of Spa
  • Ensure all guests and members are greeted on arrival to the Spa with a warm, welcoming and friendly manner, ensuring you introduce yourself to the guest.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the spa dress code and are professionally presented at all times
  • Cover the Spa Services and Treatment Reception and lead host and RTS shifts where required.
  • Establish a strong guest service ethos, created by monitoring standards via client feedback systems, mystery shopper reports and personal evaluation ensuring a consistently high standard of delivery and guest care.
  • Be responsible for knowing the week's business levels and peak times in advance. Be aware of what guests are coming in, any VIP's or previous complaints. On a daily basis be aware of exactly what is happening in the Spa, key areas of importance; provide support and service at peak busy times to the team in the Spa.
  • Ensuring duty management checklists and comprehensive walk rounds are completed highlighting areas needing attention the relevant team members.
  • To ensure smooth operation of laundry, lockers and overall spa facility.
  • To be aware of all groups and functions booked into The Spa and manage appropriately to exceed expectation and to be the point of contact.
  • To interact and communicate effectively with all team members of the spa and all members of the hotel. This will include maintaining performance standards and ensure that standards of performance are achieved and where standards are not met and the Head of Spa is fully informed.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider spa team on maintenance issues and facility upkeep undertaking remedial work where needed.
  • To lead by example; working within the team, exhibiting strong front of house and guest services skills.
  • Be accountable for the smooth operation of all facilities when on a Duty Management shift.
  • To ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to and that all staff follow these procedures. Accidents and hazards should be recorded and reported immediately and relevant forms recorded with Head of Spa. This to also to apply to the guests using the facilities.
  • Ensure all guest data is collected appropriately and utilised well, profiling guest feedback where necessary.
  • To be fully conversant with the guest and member services on offer and be able to effectively communicate these to guests.
  • To ensure the spa facilities and areas are fully closed down and secure, to include departmental key logs.
  • Ensure the provision of a quality service and product at all times.
  • Ensure that public areas are of the standard expected and assist with any duties as requested.
  • Ensure Guest's behaviour is in line with Spa etiquette and that it is amicably managed, ensuring discretion at all times.

Working Relationships/Communication

  • Undertake a handover from the manager on duty and liaise with the team on a daily basis.
  • Be an exceptional and professional ambassador for the hotel at all times.
  • Ensure you are accessible and show presence throughout the Spa interacting with staff and guests.
  • To lead by example, ensuring guest satisfaction, exhibiting strong front of house and guest service skills.
  • Show strong communication skills with guests, contractors and colleagues at all levels in the Spa team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, the Spa is a luxury environment and the expectation is to deliver the best service.
  • To report all maintenance faults to the Head of Spa, Duty Manager or Maintenance Manager.
  • To build strong relationships with The Spa Team, being approachable and accessible at all times.

About You

  • Attention to detail - preparation of the day to day visual standards of the Spa departments. To create memorable guest experiences through the excellent organisation and upkeep of areas within the Spa.
  • Ability to work cohesively alongside the wider Spa and Hotel departments, monitoring to continually improve development Utilise interpersonal skills and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others.
  • Ability to confidently identify and promote all available business opportunities, predominantly spa treatments and the upselling of services within the spa.
  • Ability to be flexible and multi-task, pro-active and think outside of the box.
  • Previous Duty Management experience in a guest facing role required.
