SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school and to join our supportive team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for special education and a commitment to helping students with diverse needs succeed. Day-to-day of the role:
• Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to enhance the learning experience of students.
• Implement strategies to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Monitor and report on students’ progress to teachers and parents.
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teaching staff.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings and professional development sessions.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
• The hours you will be required to work are 8:45am – 3:45pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Then 8:45am – 5pm on Tuesdays.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification or substantial experience working in a special school.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD) and its impact in the classroom.
• Strong understanding of the needs of students with SEN.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
