This would be starting in the New Year and is a long term and full time position. This post would see you teaching a range of subjects to a class of just 4 students diagnosed with either ASC or attachment disorder/SEMH. Students here vary in ages between primary and secondary. In each class a teaching assistant is also on hand to support. What makes this school unique? This is not strictly the traditional school environment, the team here work to keep the feel of it a home away from home, and this is felt throughout the site, especially since it is a converted residential house that has been extended. Students have spaces to break out as well as a kitchen that they can use. The school offer a very pastoral outlook on the education they provide. Whilst students can on occasion have the odd violent outburst, its not a daily thing and many students express their emotions in an angry verbal outpour or withdraw into themselves when something is bothering them. So what is the school looking for?- A teacher with UK QTS and experience in teaching students with ASC or SEMH- A pastoral and holistic approach to teaching- Confidence in a range of subjects with the ability to differentiate learning objectives according to the students learning levels. - Able to communicate and work well in the school team and contribute to the family atmosphere in a meaningful and positive way. What is on offer?- A open and understanding work environment that understands that things can come up that may mean you being late one morning or needing to leave early one day. - Great training opportunities. The school are very thorough about staff all being on board with what they offer and able to deliver the vision is seen.- Consideration for a work life balance. The school is always working on trying to make sure that teachers have a balance as much as possible. If you are looking for truly unique school and team to join, this ticks the boxes in more ways than one.
