Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Draig recruitment are recruiting full-time and part-time Teaching Assistants on behalf of a special school in Conwy. This is a large well-resourced Special Needs school catering for children ages 3-19 with autism and complex needs. Our client is seeking Teaching Assistants who are friendly and have a passion to help others with additional learning needs. Can you naturally build a rapport and create positive relationships with students then this job role might be ideal for you! Initially, you will work temporarily, however the position could go permanent after 12 weeks.

Did you know that you dont' have to hold a Teaching Assistant qualification to apply, as long as you have some experience of working with children. Draig recruitment can assist with free Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications for any one looking to expand on their career development (subject to living in Wales).

Hours of work between Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:40pm. Pays a min of GBP76 per day.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Experience working with children or young people

• Experience of supporting children or young people with autism and complex needs

• Knowledge of EHCP s (Educational Health Care Plans) and supporting students in achieving their learning goals.

• Promote a positive and nurturing environment for students, fostering their personal and social development

• Be supportive, sensitive and resilient in managing challenging situations

• Ability to use de-escalation techniques

Additional requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK

• References confirming suitability for role

• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willing to apply

• EWC registration or willing to apply

• Safeguarding training or willing to take a free course with us
