Specialist Biomedical Scientist
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £34,000 – £39,000, depending on experience
Location: Maidstone
KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we are recruiting. We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and ambition Specialist Biomedical Scientist with experience in Blood Sciences. In this role you will participate in the day to day technical running of the Pathology Department to provide an efficient and quality service.
Role Responsibilities include:
- Manage and participate in day to day technical running of blood science department to provide an efficient and quality service
- To process laboratory samples and produce timely, accurate and relevant results and reports in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- To maintain and ensure all relevant equipment is performing according to laboratory procedures.
- To assist with the receipt and processing of all samples received within the laboratory.
- To clinically release patient results and ensure abnormal results are efficiently and effectively communicated to the appropriate requesting clinicians.
- To perform a range of Specialist Blood science BMS clinical activities and provide advice as required
Person Specification:
- HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist in Blood science.
- Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of theory and analytical techniques in Blood Science.
- Knowledge of current trends in Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion.
- Basic understanding and experience in Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
