We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Protecting Vulnerable Persons Investigator in our Bridgend based Rape Investigation Team (RIT).

About the team/Department you will be joining:

The team of trained detectives specialise in investigating reports of rape, supporting victims on their journey and bringing offenders to justice.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

The purpose of the role is to undertake their powers under law to prevent, investigate and detect crime. The successful candidates will provide support to the team of detectives, by contacting victims and keeping them updated, taking witness statements, conducting cctv and H2H enquiries, reviewing third party material and help build case files for presentation at court.

They will work with partner agencies to ensure the safeguarding of vulnerable persons.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

The post requires applicants who have good written and verbal communication skills and must be computer literate. You must be able to work as part of a team and liaise with partner agencies when necessary.

You must be able to produce clear and concise reports and be able to demonstrate investigation skills.

You must be able to obtain evidence and information for use in investigations and be able to plan and formulate investigative strategies.

You must be able to prepare evidence for court and submit files for prosecution purposes.

You must have a working knowledge of Niche, PNC and PND, or be prepared to undertake training,

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
