SalaryThe post holder will provide Comprehensive Dental treatment for Paediatric Patients with Special needs. This may include Dental care under sedation or general anaesthetic where appropriate. The post holder will be expected to Hold GDC registration and professional indemnity at an appropriate level of cover. Offer a full range of treatment for children whose special needs L2/3 have prevented them from accessing dental care through the General Dental Service. Provide treatment under IV and/or RA sedation when appropriate Undertake Treatment carried out under General Anaesthetic in a hospital. To maintain up to date knowledge and skills on clinical techniques and their application to patient dental care. Oversee CDS Exodontia GA Lists Triage paediatric Special Care referrals To support other clinicians within Plymouth CDS in providing Paediatric Dentistry To be responsible for Band B paediatric dentists appraisals Provide professional advice and support to other health care workers. Liaise with other dental care providers including within the GDS and Hospital services. Undertake Administration associated with these duties including completion of appropriate NHS forms and referrals. Work alongside Clinical Lead and Service Manager to develop paediatric dental services within the service and wider Southwest. Be a member of paediatric MCN Be part of PCDS teaching/training programme of Medical and Dental students. Support the services provision of Urgent care Dentistry. Provide services on more than one site as dictated by service requirements. Take part in personal development and appraisal. Take part in clinical audit, peer review and any other clinical governance requirements. Undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development relevant to the requirements of the service. Complete ILS and PILS training This post involves working with children and vulnerable adults and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Maintain a safe working environment complying with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work act, CQC and the policies of Livewell Southwest
